# When is the San Telmo Sunday market?

[Home](https://allaboutbuenosaires.com) | [Docs](https://allaboutbuenosaires.com/docs/) | [Planning Your Trip](https://allaboutbuenosaires.com/docs-category/planning-your-trip/)

The **San Telmo Sunday Market (Feria de San Telmo)** is held **every Sunday** in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

🕙 **Hours:**

- Officially runs from about **10:00 AM to 5:00–6:00 PM**.
- The antique fair at [**Plaza Dorrego**](https://turismo.buenosaires.gob.ar/en/otros-establecimientos/plaza-dorrego) is the historic core of the market, but nowadays the stalls stretch along **Calle Defensa** for nearly 10 blocks.

🎭 **What to expect:**

- **Antiques** (the original focus): furniture, art, books, vinyls, and collectibles.
- **Handmade [crafts & souvenirs](https://allaboutbuenosaires.com/where-to-buy-souvenirs-in-buenos-aires/)**: jewelry, leather goods, mate sets, artwork.
- **Street performers & tango dancers**: especially around Plaza Dorrego.
- **Food stalls & cafés**: good for empanadas, choripán, or coffee breaks.

⚠️ **Tips:**

- It gets very crowded after noon — best to go in the morning if you want to browse more calmly.
- Keep an eye on your belongings (pickpockets target distracted tourists).
- Some stalls accept card, but **cash in pesos** is still best.
